If the claim period is expected to be more than 90 days, on expiry of the 90 day period, we require proof of loss of income, from onset of condition.
A. If the client is self-employed we would require audited financial statements (incl. monthly income and expenditure statements) for the: i) 12 month period prior to the onset of his/her condition ii) Period of the claim (period booked off work)
B. If the client is a professional in private practice or in partnership, proof of loss of income, as stipulated above, will only be requested after 2 years if the client is totally unable to perform his/her nominated occupation for the time of claiming
C. If the client is a professional in private practice or in partnership and is partially able to perform his/her nominated occupation, we would require: i) 12 month period prior to the onset of his/her condition ii) Period of the claim
D. If the client is an employee, we would require a letter from the employer detailing income prior to the onset of his/her condition, as well as loss of income for the period of the claim (period booked off work).
